Now that the warm weather is (finally) here, I started thinking about outside drinking spots. In particular, I like Stone Street in the Financial District, Bohemian Hall in Astoria and the Chelsea Brewing Company located at the Chelsea Piers. Some new bars Pub Crawl NYC is looking forward to visiting, part 2
Toby’s Public House, located at Kenmare and Mulberry Streets in Manhattan. Pub Crawl NYC has visited their original location, located at the southern fringes of Brooklyn’s Park Slope. Part pizzeria, part bar, the Brooklyn location offered some good food and a small, but solid craft-beer selection. If the Manhattan location is anything like it, then Toby’s Public House is a spot you’ll want to visit sooner rather than later.

Some new bars Pub Crawl NYC is looking forward to visiting, part 1
We’ve recently read that Pony Bar is about to open a new location on the Upper East Side on First Avenue. If the new location is anything like the original (20+ taps, frequent rotation, affordable 14-oz. pours), that would be fantastic. The Upper East Side is a bit thin when it comes to having a craft-beer focused NYC bar crawl. So, the addition of a new Pony Bar would go a long way to filling that void.

Is a new bar coming to 77 Delancey Street in Manhattan?
On a recent walk by the southeastern corner of Allen & Delancey Streets on Manhattan’s Lower East Side, it was noticed that some work was being done inside the establishment formerly known as White Slab Palace (we wrote about White Slab Palace’s closing in a post mentioning the paring down of the LES craft-beer focused NYC bar crawl). The doors and windows were open and two people were working on the bar area. The physical bar was still in the same place as before. Do you know what is going into this spot? Pub Crawl Brooklyn would like to know! Share your comment here.

RIP, Lakeside Lounge; you will be missed
Lakeside Lounge, located on Avenue B in Alphabet City, is closing for business on April 30. Here is a recent New York Times article: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/04/23/nyregion/gritty-musical-mainstay-will-close-in-the-east-village.html
A great spot, Lakeside Lounge’s closure is just another example of the impact of the demographic changes happening in the East Village/Alphabet City and a good chunk of Manhattan as a whole. If you can, try and visit Lakeside Lounge one last time.
