A review of Beer Street South in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights

Located at 550 Vanderbilt Ave in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights, Beer Street South is the second location of the Beer Street empire (their first location resides in Williamsburg). Beer Street South offers 17 beer taps plus a few draught ciders and wines. This location is a lot more spacious than the Williamsburg one. Based on our recent weekend afternoon visit, Beer Street South is kid-friendly too.

Happy First Saturday of March!

Our favorite non-holiday random calendar day of the year! The arrival of the First Saturday of March is very meaningful to us at Pub Crawl NYC. Though the calendar still says winter, March marks the end of the super-cold, long, dark winter months of December, January and February.  Spring (and good pub crawling weather) is just ahead.

And, if you’re looking for a pub crawl for today, the annual Hoboken, NJ St. Patrick’s bar crawl takes place today.  More info here.

A review of One Stop in Brooklyn’s Williamsburg

Located at 134 Kingsland Avenue in the northeast corner of Brooklyn’s Williamsburg, One Stop is a solid beer bar for an area of Williamsburg that is lacking in such a bar.  One Stop offers 16 quality tap beers and a limited food menu of bar snacks and a few sandwiches.  One Stop is a bit out of the way (Google maps estimates an 11-minute walk from the Graham Avenue L-train station), but well worth a visit on your next pub crawl through the area.

A review of 18th Ward Brewing in Williamsburg, Brooklyn

Located at 300 Richardson Street in an industrial section of northeast Williamsburg in Brooklyn, 18th Ward Brewing is a bar/brewery somewhat off the beaten path and well worth a visit.  18th Ward typically serves eight of their own draught beers and has a full bar as well.  The food menu is limited, but pairs well with beer: bar snacks and sandwiches.  18th Ward opens for business Tuesday through Friday at 5pm and Saturday and Sunday at 1pm.
