The closure of Paulaner’s brewpub in Manhattan’s Lower East Side

Bowery Boogie recently reported the closure of Paulaner’s Lower East Side brewpub location.

Our thoughts:

During its four years in business, we’ve visited Paulaner on several NYC pub crawls.  We enjoyed our time at Paulaner and are sad to see it go.  The beer was great, the staff was friendly and the food was solid.  We echo Bowery Boogie’s sentiments that perhaps Paulaner’s physical location on the Bowery may have not been the best.  We realize it’s difficult to find the exact right location for a bar/brewery of its size anywhere in Manhattan.  The LES location on Bowery was likely more affordable rent-wise than a spot further uptown.  Perhaps Paulaner can find another spot in Manhattan or elsewhere in the five boroughs.  Paulaner will be missed.

Happy First Saturday of March 2018!

It’s our favorite non-holiday random calendar day of the year! The arrival of the First Saturday of March is particularly meaningful to us at Pub Crawl NYC. Though the calendar still says winter, March marks the end of the super-cold, long, dark winter months of December, January and February.  Spring (and good pub crawling weather) is just ahead.

And, if you’re looking for a pub crawl for today, the annual Hoboken, NJ St. Patrick’s bar crawl takes place today.  More info here.

Happy St. Patrick’s Month 2018!

Our favorite NYC bar crawling month of the year has arrived!  There will be many Irish NYC pub crawls around the city.  We’ll provide info on some.  If you would prefer to create your own pub crawl, we can help, free of charge!  We just ask that you visit and “like” our facebook fanpage first, www.facebook.com/pubcrawlnyc and follow us on twitter (@nycpubcrawl). We’ve visited the overwhelming majority of bars across Manhattan, Brooklyn and Queens. And we’re happy to share our wealth of knowledge.  Drop us a note on Facebook.
