Memorial Day weekend just may be our favorite weekend of the year here at Pub Crawl NYC. Sometimes, the weekend is an opportunity for a quick trip out of town; other times, it’s great to stick around town and go on a NYC bar crawl or three. As the weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer, the weather almost always delivers (though this weekend may be an exception). It was on this weekend long ago that we participated in our very first bar crawl and we’ve been a big fan of bar crawls ever since! So, whether you’re staying in town or traveling for the long weekend, have a great time, stay safe and happy pub crawling!
Bar Crawling in Astoria, Queens
Not long after our NYC bar crawl in Lower Manhattan, we had the opportunity to pub crawl in Astoria, Queens. We always have a great time bar hopping in Astoria. We’ll share a few thoughts on our recent Astoria visit in the coming days.
Pub Crawling in Lower Manhattan
We recently went NYC bar hopping in Chelsea and Greenwich Village, visiting spots such as The Woodstock and Bar Freud. In the coming days, we’ll share some brief thoughts on those two spots, among others. Stay tuned.
Happy Cinco De Mayo 2018!

A review of Sweet Polly’s in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights
Located at 71 Sixth Avenue in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights, Sweet Polly’s is an artisanal cocktail bar in a part of Brooklyn that doesn’t have many similar spots. The space is fairly small and intimate, with a small bar area at the back half of the space. With a friendly staff, Sweet Polly’s is a spot we look forward to visiting again.
A review of Atlantic Social in Brooklyn’s Fort Greene
Located at 673 Atlantic Avenue across the street from the eastern end of Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, Atlantic Social is a spacious restaurant and bar. It almost feels like a spot you’ll find in a suburb or in a rapidly expanding city in the sun belt. The food featured Detroit pizza (somewhat reminiscent of a smaller and thinner-crust version of Sicilian pie) and other bar-friendly food. Overall, we found Atlantic Social a good spot for before or after an event at Barclays Center.
A visit to Shorty’s in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights
Located at 229 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn’s Prospect Heights, Shorty’s NYC is the establishment’s fifth location and the first outside of Manhattan. Shorty’s NYC brings its craft-beer and Philly cheesesteak formula to the Barclays Center area. This location is probably the smallest in size of the five Shorty’s. As expected, the craft-beer selection is solid and includes about twenty draught beers, some local and other U.S. regional craft-beer. You’ll want to include this spot for your next Flatbush Avenue NYC bar crawl.
