A review of The Tailor in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen

Located at 505 8th Avenue in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen, The Tailor is a recently-opened bi-level Irish pub.  While there’s a vague tailor-theme going on here in homage to the surrounding (but shrinking) Garment District neighborhood, we couldn’t help but think this was another rather common Midtown pub, of which there must be at least a dozen similar spots within a few blocks in either direction.  We didn’t find the craft-beer selection all that compelling either.  Perhaps the cocktails are the liquid draw here, but we didn’t sample any of those.

A review of The Woodstock in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District

Located at 446 West 14th Street in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District, The Woodstock (as its name alludes), is a retro-1960s cocktail bar and pizza spot.  The Woodstock is more spacious than expected with the bar up front, followed by some seating and then, in the back-right of the space, a small 1960s retro living room set up.  The pizza (10-inch diameter in size) was solid and the cocktails were plentiful.  Add in the friendly staff and this is a must-visit on your next NYC pub crawl through the neighborhood.  We look forward to returning here.
