Paulaner Brauhaus on Manhattan's Lower East Side has reopened
After being closed for nearly two months for renovations, Paulaner Brauhaus on the Bowery has reopened for business! We are happy to hear that.
Today is the anniversary of Wisconsin statehood
On May 29, 1848, Wisconsin joined the Union as the 30th State. Our NYC bar of the day: Kettle of Fish, located at 59 Christopher Street in Manhattan’s West Village.
On the excitement of Memorial Day Weekend
Memorial Day weekend just may be our favorite weekend of the year here at Pub Crawl NYC. Sometimes it’s appropriate for a quick trip out of town, other times, it’s good to stick around town and go on a NYC bar crawl or three. As the weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer, the weather almost always delivers. It was on a Memorial Day weekend long ago that we participated in our very first pub crawl. So, whether you’re staying in town or traveling for the long weekend, have a great time, stay safe and happy pub crawling!
Is Paulaner Brauhaus closed for business?
We recently came across news that the Paulaner Brauhaus on the Bowery in Manhattan’s Lower East Side was closing for business. We visited Paulaner Brauhaus fairly recently. The bar’s website says that the spot is “closed due to renovation”. It strikes us odd that they would be renovating less than six months after opening for business. But, we certainly hope they are renovating and not closing permanently. Do you have any further information on this topic? If so, please share in the comment space below.
Happy Cinco De Mayo!
Pub Crawl NYC wishes you a safe and happy Cinco De Mayo!
Today marks the anniversary of Louisiana statehood
Louisiana joined the Union on April 30, 1812. For a Louisiana-focused NYC bar crawl today, we suggest including Ninth Ward at 180 Second Avenue in Manhattan’s East Village and Delta Grill at 700 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan’s Hell’s Kitchen.
Now THAT is a German-style soft pretzel!
Manhattan bars we look forward to visiting
Five bars in Manhattan that we hope to pub crawl to sooner rather than later: On the Upper East Side: Bondurants and The Gilroy. In Midtown, two new rooftop spots for the Midtown NYC rooftop NYC bar crawl: The Roof and Bar 54. Further South, in the Village: Carroll Place, a gastropub in what used to be Kenny’s Castaways. Yet another example of the sign of the changing times, even for Greenwich Village.
