Here’s hoping that, six months from now, life is much closer to a return to normal than what we have presently.

It was 232 years ago on July 26 that New York State ratified the United States Constitution, becoming the 11th state to do so.  Therefore, July 26^th is a great day to drink some New York State beer and eat some New York State food.  If coronavirus were not around, we would suggest a visit to Manhattan’s Local & Vine, located at 282 Hudson Street in West Soho.

July 12 is the day for the second go-around of the semi-annual Manhattanhenge event (the other date is May 30). Due to COVID-19, we won’t be able to witness the phenomenon this year. Happy 244th Birthday to the good ol’ USA. Our NYC Bar of the Day: Fraunces Tavern, located at 54 Pearl Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. We look forward to returning there once all this COVID madness is behind us.

O Canada!  If bars were open for business these days, our pick today would be Ontario Bar, located at 559 Grand Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

A recent article in Gothamist caught our attention. We believe, if handled properly, To-Go Booze sales becoming permanent will be a positive for the bar business. We’ll see what transpires in Albany.
