Happy Flag Day 2016!

Here are a few spots to hit for a Flag Day NYC bar crawl:

Fraunces Tavern, 54 Pearl Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. George Washington hung out here.

Loopy Doopy, rooftop bar atop Conrad Hotel in Battery Park City.  Great view of Statue of Liberty and the relatively late sunset.

Pete’s Tavern, 18th Street & Irving Place in Manhattan’s Gramercy section.  Among the oldest bars in Manhattan.

Happy Memorial Day weekend 2016!

Memorial Day weekend just may be our favorite weekend of the year here at Pub Crawl NYC.  Sometimes it’s appropriate for a quick trip out of town; other times, it’s great to stick around town and go on a NYC pub crawl or three.  As the weekend marks the unofficial beginning of summer, the weather almost always delivers.  It was on this weekend long ago that we participated in our very first bar crawl and we’ve been a big fan of bar crawls ever since!  So, whether you’re staying in town or traveling for the long weekend, have a great time, stay safe and happy pub crawling!

Recently-opened Manhattan bars on our radar

A few new Manhattan bars have popped up on our radar and we hope to include these in upcoming NYC bar crawls.  Over in Alphabet City, Mockingbird at 25 Avenue B (below the Tex-Mex eatery Avenida) picks up where Idle Hands left off.  We gather that Mockingbird is more Speakeasy than beer bar.  A few miles north in Midtown East, Sutton Bar Room at 1074 First Avenue has opened in the same space as Sin Bin (the space was State of Grace prior to Sin Bin).  And, by Penn Station, Rock & Reilly (a Los Angeles import) has just opened in a rooftop location at the Marriott Hotel at 218 West 35th Street.  After we’ve had a chance to pub crawl to these spots, we will have a review of each in this space.  Stay tuned.
