The Long Hall NYC, a new bar and restaurant, located at 58 East 34th Street in Midtown South (in the old Murray Bar space), is now open for business as of this writing. We don’t know much about the spot; we’ll have a review in this space after our initial visit.

New NYC Bar Alert – The Malt House in Manhattan's Financial District
The Malt House (of Greenwich Village fame) is opening its second location to the public on Tuesday, May 19. This one is in Manhattan’s Financial District at 9 Maiden Lane (between Broadway and Nassau Street). After we have a chance to visit Malt House’s new location, we will post our review. Stay tuned.
New NYC Bar Alert – Crompton Ale House in Manhattan's Chelsea
Located at 159 West 26th Street in Manhattan’s Chelsea, Crompton Ale House is a new craft-beer bar / sports bar. Crompton offers 24 tap beers. The bar area takes up most of the spot (followed by a small dining area in back). Having opened during the first week of May, Crompton did a great job with design as the space feels as though it’s been around for a while. If you live/work near Crompton, you need to visit this spot. We look forward to returning here.

Happy First Saturday of March!
Our favorite non-holiday random calendar day of the year! The arrival of the First Saturday of March is very meaningful to us at Pub Crawl NYC. Though the calendar still says winter, March marks the end of the super-cold, long, dark winter months of December, January and February. Spring (and good pub crawling weather) is just ahead.
And if you’re looking for a pub crawl today, here’s one option across the Hudson River in Hoboken, NJ, sponsored by pubcrawls.com:

Union Square NYC Beer Bar crawl loses a spot
We are disheartened to report that Heartland Brewery’s original Union Square location has closed for business. A recent walk by showed that the space was up for lease (see photo below). We’ve had numerous NYC pub crawls pass through the Union Square Heartland Brewery. It was a great space, with tasty craft beer and a friendly staff. We will miss this location terribly. But, Heartland has three other locations in Midtown, so we look forward to visiting Heartland on our next bar crawls in Midtown.
