During a recent NYC pub crawl, we learned about Cellar 36, a wine bar that recently opened at 36 Market Street, between Madison and Henry (this spot is on the same block as the bar Mr. Fong’s). During our visit, wines by the glass numbered around a dozen, with numerous more available by the bottle. Oysters, cheese plates and other elevated wine bar snacks are available for food. Happy Hour occurs from 5-7pm. We look forward to returning here.

Located at 59 Reade Street in Manhattan’s Tribeca, Tavern on Reade picks up where the former Maxwell’s left off. Tavern on Reade offers 16 draught beers and a $5 draught beer happy hour specials from 4pm until 7pm Monday through Friday. The spot was still somewhat in soft-open phase when we visited, as the kitchen was not yet open. Add in the friendly staff and this is definitely a spot to visit on your next afternoon or evening out bar hopping in Tribeca.
We wish we could provide some info on upcoming NYC pub crawls for this occasion, but, due to coronavirus, there are no bar crawls in NYC happening today or for a while.
In normal times, we would have loved to recommend a pub crawl for today. But, in light of the spread of COVID-19, these are not normal times. Please stay safe, wash your hands regularly and heed the safety announcements of your local authorities.
