After a few weeks of soft open, Church Publick, located at 78 Reade Street (near Church) in Tribeca, is opening this week. It is a great addition to the Tribeca craft-beer NYC bar crawl. Full review forthcoming.

Suggestions for bars for a Halloween NYC bar crawl
With Halloween approaching, it’s time to share a few Halloween-appropriate bars for a pub crawl in NYC. Our recommendations include the following:
Jeckyll & Hyde, 91 7th Avenue South in the West Village
Slaughtered Lamb, 182 West 4th Street, also in the West Village
White Horse Tavern, 567 Hudson Street, also in the West Village
Landmark Tavern, 626 11th Avenue in Hell’s Kitchen
Ear Inn, 326 Spring Street in (West) Soho.
All of these bars are Halloween-themed or have a famous ghost story of sorts attached to them. The last three are also part of our favorite Old NYC pub crawl.

Here's a NYC bar crawl option for this weekend
The Second Avenue Halloween NYC bar crawl, sponsored by Lindy Promotions, taking place on Saturday, October 26, starting at 1pm. More info here: http://www.lindypromo.com/event/2nd-ave-halloween-pub-crawl/
The Paris Cafe has re-opened!
We are happy to report that the Paris Cafe, located at 119 South Street in Manhattan and our favorite stop along the Old NYC pub crawl, has re-opened for business after nearly a year of renovations following Hurricane Sandy. We visited the Paris Cafe on a recent afternoon. While the dining area is basically the same, the main bar area was altered such that the bar is now against the southern edge of the space, instead of the western edge.

A review of Olympia Wine Bar in Brooklyn's DUMBO
Located at 54 Jay Street in Brooklyn’s DUMBO, Olympia Wine Bar is just what this neighborhood needs: A chill, nabe wine bar. Olympia offers a dozen bottled/glass wines. A few small tables fill out the space, but it’s mostly bar-style seating. Olympia offers innovative wine bar food and a killer cheese plate (we hope some Manhattan wine bars take notice). Next time you’re in DUMBO, you need to check out Olympia.
Some recent NYC bar visits
Some drinking establishment visits that we’ve included on our various recent NYC pub crawls include Midtown Manhattan’s Monarch Rooftop Bar (just off of Herald Square), The Winslow on East 14th Street and Store Front NYC on West 23rd Street. Over in Brooklyn, we had the pleasure of visiting Park Slope’s Duke of Montrose, Kensington’s Bar Chord and Williamsburg’s Grand Ferry, among others. We found all of these spots appealing. As always, we’ll share some detailed thoughts on these spots in forthcoming posts.
