Two more photos from our recent visit to Rockaway Brewing Company.  We look forward to a return visit on our next pub crawl through the area.

Located at 46-01 5^th Street in Long Island City, Queens, Rockaway Brewing Company is, by definition, a nano-brewery (meaning it brews just under 400 kegs per year) that recently opened operations in LIC.  Open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday only (for now, anyway), the tasting room is very small and is standing room only.  The brewery is in the process of an expansion and it expects to have a slightly larger tasting room (with seats!) toward the end of the summer.  Visitors can purchase a four-beer sampler for on-site consumption or beers-to-go in sizes of 16-, 32- or 64-ounces.  During our visit, the brewery had six beers available for tasting.  If you appreciate beer brewed in small batches, then you must visit Rockaway Brewing Company!

Located at 7 N. 15^th St, Dirck the Norseman is a brewpub on the Greenpoint/Williamsburg border in Brooklyn.  Numerous house beers available (see photo of beer menu below). The food leans toward German fare.  We look forward to returning on our next NYC bar crawl through the area!

A view looking south from Bar 54, located at 135 West 45^th (the name “Bar 54” comes from the fact that it’s on the 54^th floor of the building), which is, for now, the highest rooftop bar in NYC.

Located at 37-19 Broadway in Astoria, Queens, Oliver’s is a welcomed addition to any Astoria NYC beer bar crawl.  Oliver’s offers 16 tap beers, representing a good mix of local and other U.S. regional craft beers.  Another 30 beers available out of can/bottle.  Oliver’s is spacious and we look forward to returning on our next pub crawl through the area!

Located at 47-10 in Long Island City, Queens, Woodbines takes over the former Lounge 47 space.  Woodbines is a bar/gastropub; Front half is bar, while the back half is dining area.  While Lounge 47 had a backyard space for patrons, Woodbines’ entrance to the backyard had an “employees only” sign, so perhaps the backyard area was under renovation during our visit. Woodbines, a good addition to any Vernon Blvd NYC bar crawl, offers 12 beer taps.  Food menu consists of mainly upscale pub food.  Try the Woodbines burger!

As we continued our recent rooftop NYC bar crawl, we enjoyed the view shown below.  The photo looks north, from atop 125 East 27^th Street, where you will find the recently-opened rooftop bar, Roof at Park South.

You need to check out this spot: Located at 7915 Third Avenue in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn, Windy City Ale House is a Chicago-friendly bar!  A great spot to catch a Chicago sports game on TV.  Also a good spot for a Bay Ridge craft-beer bar crawl!
