A visit to Captain Lawrence Brewery

Captain Lawrence has been brewing delicious craft beer since 2006.  On a recent weekend, we finally had a chance to visit Captain Lawrence’s Elmsford, NY facility.  As compared with most of the breweries we’ve visited around NYC’s five boroughs, Captain Lawrence’s space is enormous, holding two different tasting rooms and a sizeable space for brewing.  The main (and larger) tasting room can hold close to 200 patrons, while the smaller one can hold around 100.  There is also an outdoor patio for good-weather drinking.

The main tasting room offers nearly twenty draught beers as well as various bar food and pizzas.  The space is kid-friendly and had live music during our visit.  Overall, we had a great time at Captain Lawrence and look forward to a return visit.  The Elmsford facility visiting hours and related info are here. Our favorite Manhattan bar opening of 2022

Highwater Rooftop is perched atop the recently-opened Hotel Indigo at 120 Water Street in Manhattan’s Financial District.  The Highwater Rooftop is a welcomed addition to the neighborhood.  Cocktails and wine are the focus here.  The bi-level space has two small indoor spaces on the lower level and, up two flights of stairs, is a slightly larger outdoor area.

We look forward to visiting many new bar openings around NYC’s five boroughs in 2023!
