Clinton Hall 36, located at 16 West 36th Street in Midtown. This is the fifth location of Clinton Hall in NYC and the third Manhattan location. Like the other locations, this Clinton Hall delivers with a large quantity of quality craft beers and games. We look forward to many return visits in 2019.

BierWax, located at 556 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights. BierWax is a craft beer spot with a charming outdoor space in back. We look forward to return visits here in 2019.

The Astorian, located at 28-50 31st Street in Astoria. It has a great craft beer selection and solid ambiance. We look forward to return visits in 2019.

Bar crawling along Orchard Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side
We stopped in at recently-opened Reception Bar, a Korean cocktail bar, located at 45 Orchard Street (just north of Hester Street). The focus here is on cocktails made with Korean spirits. Bartenders are knowledgeable and will help you pick the right cocktail for you. It’s a rather small space, so you probably won’t want to bring parties larger than three here.

We recently had a chance to do some NYC pub crawling along Broome Street and Orchard Street in Manhattan’s Lower East Side. We visited recently-opened spots such as Reception Bar and Devon. We’ll share some brief thoughts and photos from these two spots in the coming days.

December 5 marks the 85th anniversary of the end of Prohibition in the United States
December 5, 2018 marks the 85th anniversary of the end of U.S. Prohibition. On this date in 1933, Utah became the 36th U.S. state to ratify the 21st Amendment to the United States Constitution (achieving the required 75% of states to approve the amendment). This ratification overturned the 18th Amendment, which outlawed alcohol in the United States. So, how will you be marking the anniversary today, with a pub crawl in NYC perhaps?
