Be sure to stop in at Back Pocket Bar, located at 462 West 49th Street (close to 10th Avenue). This spot is from the same owners as Pocket Bar NYC one block south. As its name suggests, Back Pocket Bar is a rather small space. We found it very charming.
Stop in at Decimo Ristobar, located at 764 10th Avenue. It’s a wine bar/restaurant with great wine bar-like food.
Since most bars are small businesses, we recommend a bar crawl today as a way to mark the occasion!

We recently had a couple of opportunities to bar crawl though Manhattan’s Hells Kitchen. We visited Decimo Restobar and Back Pocket Bar, among others. We’ll have brief thoughts on these two spots in forthcoming posts.

is a small cocktail bar called Blue Quarter, located at 92 Second Avenue. There’s a door at the back of the main dining room that looks as though it may lead to a restroom, but that door opens into the small-ish bar area of Blue Quarter. House cocktails run $15/drink. Blue Quarter is worth a visit the next time you’re bar hopping in the East Village.
