Located at 10-22 46th Ave in a former taxi garage in LIC, Queens, The Gutter brings its retro 1970s bar and bowling alley north of the Newtown creek with a new location to add to the Williamsburg spot. More spacious than it’s Brooklyn location, the Gutter LIC offers 20 tap beers, a lot of seating and some pinball machines. The bowling alley is up half a flight of stairs in the back of the space and has eight lanes. Add in the Friendly staff and this place is a must-visit for LIC NYC craft beer bar crawl.

A review of Allora Alto in Manhattan’s Midtown East
Located at 156 east 47th street in Manhattan’s Midtown East, Allora Alto is a recently opened rooftop bar atop the Bernic Hotel. One of the smaller rooftop bars that we’ve visited, Allora Alto offers niche views of midtown east (a view looking west along 47th street is provided below), particularly the Chrysler building just to the south. It’s opens for business at noon daily, so if you need a quick break from the office and you’re sick of Starbucks, head over to Allora Alto.
Looking for a NYC bar crawl this weekend?
Here’s one suggestion: The folks at Elite Bar Crawls present the NYC Neon Bar Crawl, taking place in Manhattan’s East Village starting at noon on Saturday, June 24. More details here.
Happy Summer Solstice 2017!
Best wishes to you on this first day of summer. Happy pub crawling this season!
Happy Flag Day 2017!
Here are a few spots to hit for a Flag Day NYC bar crawl:
Fraunces Tavern, 54 Pearl Street in Manhattan’s Financial District. George Washington hung out here.
Loopy Doopy, rooftop bar atop Conrad Hotel in Battery Park City. Great view of Statue of Liberty and the relatively late sunset.
Pete’s Tavern, 18th Street & Irving Place in Manhattan’s Gramercy section. Among the oldest bars in Manhattan.
A review of Somm Time in Manhattan’s Midtown East
Located at 959 Second Avenue in Manhattan’s Midtown East, Somm Time is a small-ish wine and cocktail bar located on a strip of Second Avenue with numerous other restaurants and bars. Somm Time opens for business at 4pm on weekdays and 11am for brunch on weekends. The non-brunch food menu mainly consists of bar bites and small plates. Somm Time is definitely worth a visit on your next Second Avenue NYC pub crawl.
A review of The Heights in Manhattan’s Midtown South
Located at 11 East 31st Street atop the Arlo Nomad hotel in Manhattan’s Midtown South, The Heights is another rooftop bar with great 360-degree views around Midtown South and beyond, including the iconic Empire State Building. It’s one of the few rooftop bars that we are aware of that is open for business on a weekday afternoon. The premium mixed drinks here are named after sections of the five boroughs that have “Heights” in its name (Morningside Heights, Jackson Heights, Dyker Heights, etc.) If we had one piece of feedback, it’s that the spot seemed rather understaffed during our visit. Hopefully, that gets rectified in the weeks ahead. In all, The Heights is a great spot for any Summer NYC rooftop bar crawl.
